Estimates and invoices
Estimates
Section titled “Estimates”An estimate lists the treatment you propose. Add line items, which can come from your treatment list, and set a discount and tax rate. Each line is a labor, material or service item.
An estimate starts as a Draft. Choosing send marks it Sent and makes its link work. The link opens a page with no login. SherDore Dental doesn’t email the link, so send it to the patient yourself.
| Status | Meaning |
|---|---|
| Draft | Not sent yet. |
| Sent | The link is live. |
| Viewed | The patient opened it. |
| Accepted | The patient accepted it. |
| Rejected | The patient declined it. |
| Expired | It passed its expiry date without an answer. |
The patient chooses accept or reject and types their name as a signature. The answer is recorded and can’t be changed afterwards.
Invoices
Section titled “Invoices”Create an invoice from a completed appointment, or start one directly. An invoice has the same line items, discount and tax rate as an estimate.
Its status is Draft, Sent, Viewed, Partially paid, Paid, Overdue or Void. Marking an invoice send works like an estimate: it makes the patient’s link live, and you share it yourself.
Payments
Section titled “Payments”Record payments against an invoice by cash, check, card, bank transfer or other. A payment can’t exceed the remaining balance, and a part payment leaves the invoice Partially paid.
Who can manage them
Section titled “Who can manage them”- Estimates: owners, office managers and dentists.
