Parts and stock
The parts catalog
Section titled “The parts catalog”Add each part you stock with:
- a name, optional SKU and description
- its unit (each, foot, box and so on)
- your unit cost and the unit price you charge
- a reorder threshold, the stock level at which you want to reorder
New parts start with your organization’s default threshold, which you can change per part. See Settings and reminders. Switch a part to inactive when you stop using it, rather than deleting it.
Stock movements
Section titled “Stock movements”Stock changes are recorded as movements, so you can see how a quantity got to where it is. There are three kinds:
| Movement | When |
|---|---|
| Received | Stock arrives from a supplier. |
| Used | Parts are used on a job. |
| Adjustment | You correct the count, for example after a stocktake. |
Recording parts used on a job creates a Used movement and lowers the stock for you.
Who can manage stock
